Gathering Dark explores themes of transience and finitude in human experience. Often, it is the fragility of life, the unreliability of memory, or the temporariness of our relationships that allow us to cherish ourselves and those around us. The work attempts to capture this transience as a condition for the possibility of love and intimacy.
All the pieces were completed during my two-month residency at Aquarium, and would not have been possible without their generous support.
